The Peacock Principle
One of the characteristics of the VGU campus is the courtyards of the academic clusters. Though, due to their lack of identity and functionality they are mostly unused. With an intelligent design we want to unfold their spatial potential as places for temporary events. The design can not be decorative only but needs to add function to the space. Therefore, every design needs to provide an area for projections, an area for a speaker, MC or DJ and an area for an audience.
In teams of two, we are searching for low-invasive ideas that have the strength to transform the atmosphere of the place, are reversible (no damage to the building), reusable (can be used several times), and cost-efficient. The observation of the daily practice of locals as well as the study of current interior design projects builds a valuable resource for the design.
